Last weekend I celebrated the third anniversary of the launch of Accidental Icon. In a twist of fate I returned to Montreal where three years ago I received a nudge by a lovely young Canadian fashion blogger, Lolitta Dandoy and Garance Dore to push the publish button. My anniversary weekend was filled with wonderful events which I will write about soon. But today I want to make sure that everyone knows how much of my success is due to the photographs that have been taken of me by my partner in life, Calvin Lom.

A street photographer with a preference for film cameras and analog methods, jumping to digital and fashion photography was never his preferred choice of expressing his creativity or his “photographic” personality. But because of his love and support of me and everything I do,  he has devoted time and energy to the craft of digital photography. His portraits of me roaming the city streets with an attitude have really become my trademark.  These shots and their street shooting sensibility, which Calvin has brought to the table, are what I believe has allowed me to be embraced so inclusively across many categories and to stand out in a very crowded field.  His photos  are what has been the vehicle of the expression of my personality and have endeared me to my friends and followers.

I know this to be true because although Calvin’s photos are now competing with the likes of fashion photographers such as Terry Richardson and others, it is always Calvin’s photos that garner the most likes and comments. So although I am so appreciative of, and received so many congratulations on my anniversary from many people who saw my instagram story, I want to make sure that Calvin (and everyone else) knows just how much credit he deserves for the amazing success my little fashion project has become and how I could not have done this without him.  Happy Creative Partnership Anniversary!
